Practical networking strategies for occupational therapy students entering the profession. Strategies include the "do's and don'ts" for successful networking and mentoring relationships. Whether you network to make new friends, find a new job, develop a current career, explore new career options, obtain referrals or sales leads, or simply broaden your professional horizons, it is important to make the most of networking events to exchange information, contacts, and experiences. Oftentimes, networking leads to wonderful mentoring opportunities.

Mentoring is a relationship and process that advances the learning and professionalism of participants. This session aims to explore the definition of mentoring, mentoring uses, benefits, strategies, and the different types of mentoring relationships. Another purpose of this session is also to provide occupational therapy students with tools to create both successful networking tools, and strategies for successful mentoring relationships.
